About

Pintar aquilo que vemos diante de nós é uma arte diferente de pintar o que vemos dentro de nós.

To paint what we see before us is a different art from painting what we see within.

– JUNG

I'm not a drunk, much less a saint. A wizard should not be a "saint" ... Should be able to stoop so low as a louse and rise as high as an eagle ... Must be god and devil at the same time. Being a good witch means being in the middle of the storm and did not protect. That is, experience life in all its phases. Being the crazy from time to time. It is also sacred

Bio by Rebecca Hoffberger of AVAM (American Visionary Art Museum)

Born José Eliézer Mikosz, in Curitiba, Brazil. Mikosz was a sensitive boy, always drawing and when just five-years old, he began having visions and lucid dreams. His first appeared, "like a little dancing snowman made out of electricity." At 12, his Mother introduced him to Rosicrucianism and he read Lopsang Rampa, studied the teachings of Gurdjieff, and taught himself to cast astrological charts. He was soon asked to perform spiritual house cleanings. Always drawing and painting, only at age 25 did Antar go to college, and then only to get a paper degree to enable him to secure a teaching position. Taking the Arabic first name, Antar, meaning, "Hero in a story of chivalry," Mikosz continued to study spiritual traditions and magic before becoming drawn to the direct revelatory experience had by plant shamans, a wide array of whom lived throughout Brazil, along with popular Plant Churches.

Now, as Professor Antar Mikosz, he is a widely respected teacher and expert author on the subject of visionary and psychedelic "insider" artwork and music. Mikosz is himself a talented guitarist who maintains a passion for heavy metal music, a loving family man with wife and two grown children, and a devotee of the trans-religious practice of The Golden Rule.

Interview to Rosicrucian TV Program.
